Bespoke suiting within the Pakistani fashion industry remains one of the few last frontiers within couture that only a handful of designers have mastered and Hassan Sheheryar Yasin (HSY) is leading pack. Understanding the art of fine tailoring and the allure of simplicity, the couturier continues to be the bastion of menswear as he presents a collection titled Legion.

Focusing on the finest luxuries of life that men can aspire to, Legion is an ode to fine tailoring, sartorial menswear, and to an intricate approach by HSY towards exclusivity in suiting that rarely gets the spotlight in the Pakistani fashion industry.

However, more than that, the master couturier has upped the ante and has made this an ode to the new generation of men who are taking the baton of fashion forward.

Starring names like Daniyal Zafar, Khaqan Shahnawaz, and Zarrar Khan who will soon be seen in Mahira Khan’s debut production Baarwan Khiladi, the fashion reel has been directed by fellow mega popular supermodel Waleed Khalid and edited by Amar Ali of Hybrid Imaging, who manage to make all three project a certain tamped down sensuality with their brooding faces and smouldering side glances.

The fashion reel explores the ideals of masculinity through an equestrian vibe and complements the luxe ethos of men’s suiting that is timeless and classic; giving a nod to the ethereal allure of sharp-edged silhouettes and cuts seen exclusively in collections by HSY.

The film in all its approaches continues to prove that each piece from Legion narrates the tale of a glorious past with eyes fixed firmly on a fashionable future.

In keeping with the signature charisma of HSY’s ensembles and his need to have a meaning behind each collection, the fashion reel for Legion also focuses on giving out a narrative of resilience through the subtle nod of support for Palestine via the flamboyant use of the iconic Keffiyeh – to broadcast a message of fraternal vibes between Pakistanis and Palestinians.

The campaign as well as the collection by HSY goes on further to pay homage to others aspects as well — with old-world charm leading the fray.

Whether it is Daniyal, Khaqan or Zarrar featured in shades and hues of blacks and grey done to perfection in HSY sartorial suiting or their grand accessories courtesy of Hanif Jewelers and Optica, the trio represent the confluence point where classic and traditional meets the contemporary and modern in more ways than one.

The stills from Legion as well, which have been shot by the perfectionist behind the lens, Abdullah Haris, sheds light on the excellence in design that HSY has come to be known for.

Each bespoke piece of suiting narrates a tale of opulence that does not go over the top and instead works in equilibrium with his design sensibility and his innate understanding of what men need.

Putting in decades of experience behind every collection that he brings forward, HSY has yet again proven why the term King of Couture was coined for him many many years ago.

For those who understand the excellence of his menswear, Legion is nothing short of a coveted collection, woven into bespoke reality, for the discerning man of today.
